Nancy Vonk is co-founder of Swim, a “creative leadership lab” designed to create fearless leaders in industries from advertising to banking to fashion. From Droga5 to America’s “Top 40 Architects Under 40”, the groups they work with gain new tools and insights to have greater personal impact. Swim’s unconventional approach to leadership training has been noted in Forbes and Fast Company.

Nancy and Swim co-founder Janet Kestin were Co-Chief Creative Officers of Ogilvy Toronto from 1998 to 2011; they led their office to two Cannes Grand Prix, a Grand Clio and Best of Show at the Creativity Awards for work like Dove “Evolution” and “Diamond Shreddies”. Nancy has judged industry awards shows including Cannes, Clios, CA, The One Show and D&AD, and chaired shows including the Art Director’s Club.

Nancy and Janet were included in Creativity magazine’s Top 50 Creative People of 2008, and named advertising Women of the Year at the WIN Awards and the AWNY Awards in 2007. In 2012 they were included in Advertising Age Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Women in Advertising. Nancy has lectured and delivered masters classes at schools like VCU Brandcenter, Creative Circus, OCADU and MCAD. She serves on the boards of The One Club and Creative Circus.

Adweek book Pick Me, based on Nancy and Janet’s advice column “Ask Jancy”, is a staple in advertising schools from Texas to Turkey. In 2014 they launched a HarperCollins book, Darling, You Can’t Do Both (And Other Noise To Ignore On Your Way Up)—a guide to breaking invisible rules of business that trip women up. Nancy contributes regularly to Fast Company. She speaks frequently about leadership, most recently at Facebook, Google and UCLA.
