Pantone Color of the Year 2015 Announced
Pantone announced the Color of the year 2015 to be Marsala, 18-1438.
Enjoy reading what the hue has to say to you from our very own color maven & Circus instructor, Sylvia Gaffney:
As Marsala, the Color of the Year for 2015, I am not that flashy poster red or brave crimson. Please! I am more reflective and discerning. If my surface is soft or matte, I become the protective, even prayerful parent who is capable of managing home and wise corporate decisions. Only honest, welcoming gentle hugs come from me. I will embrace new challenges with good preparation.
My roots are earthy like wet, frosted terra cotta when it is cold because it is drying. In autumn I am at the foggy edge of the water under red oaks as the sun pierces through and warms my hue. I can shelter you from life’s storms because I am informed. Yet I become opulent and more sensual when my surface has a sheen or luminescence
Unlike other reds I can be used in huge quantity. Surface and position guide my interpretation. Small bits of intense colors will make me a neutral or use me with duller hues and I become a leader.
Swish me around to taste my full bodied flavor. Notice how I can cleanse and refine the color palette too.
Cheery 2015 and continued hue discoveries,
Syl
