At The Creative Circus, there are few things we love more than a good success story, and this week’s Circus Grad turned Creative Director turned Forum speaker is one of our favorites.

Jesse Juriga, Creative Director at Google Creative Lab, is making the trip from New York City to Atlanta this Friday to meet with students, look at books, and talk about his own journey from surviving Sylvia as a first quarter to being recognized by Cannes Lions, The One Show, ADC Young Guns and more.

Out of the norm, Jesse got his first job while he was technically still a student here at The Creative Circus. He used what was left of his loan money to book a flight to New York to meet with Droga5 Chief Creative Officer and Circus Advisory Board Member, Ted Royer. After showing his skills (and determination- he worked until 2am), he was offered a job just one month later.

After 4+ years at Droga5, Jesse went on to work at BBH New York on Google Chrome. If you’ve been to an Open House at The Circus, chances are you’ve seen “Dear Sophie” on our Alumni Reel.

“Dear Sophie” was named 2011’s Best Ad by Time Magazine and “The Ad That Makes Us All Cry” by Circus Staff.

He’s an art director by trade, but more than that- he’s a storyteller, and we can’t wait to hear him tell his story this Friday, November 7th at 1:00PM in the theatre.
