The 2013 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has come to a close, but we’re still reveling in the celebration here in Atlanta. Both Circus alumni and current students had the honor of being declared winners at this year’s festivities in categories ranging from film to branded content and more.

A team of Creative Circus students was chosen as one of five winners in AKQA’s Future Lions 2013. As seen in various online publications, The Circus students raised $20,000 in a matter of days to make their way to Cannes to collect their awards in person. Take a look at their winning idea from Jarrett Jamison, Verenice Lopez, Devin McGillivary, Nath Cochran and Bradley Daniely titled, “IBM Project Accel,” below:

In addition to student winners, The Creative Circus was represented in the winners’ circle by alumni as well. For their work on “The Beauty Inside,” a six-episode film campaign created on behalf of Intel and Toshiba, Chaz Whitworth, Neal Ramanan, Jason Apaliski and the team at Pereira & O’Dell picked up 12 awards, including three Grand Prix.

As we’d mentioned earlier, Circus alum Brent Goldman and his art director partner, Josh McGuire, at Tribal Worldwide were declared winners in the 2013 Cannes Young Lions “Team USA” competition in the film category. “Playgrounded,” a 30-second commercial for KABOOM!, earned the team a spot in the global competition that took place this past week.

To everyone that was awarded at Cannes this year – congratulations. Here’s to even more in 2014!
