This year, The One Club has added an Educator category to their Hall of Fame and will honor Creative Circus co-founder Robert Lawton as their inaugural inductee.  With an army of adoring former students, Lawton is a champion of the advertising world who chose to dedicate his time to molding new creatives.  We are proud to offer congratulations to Robert and his family on this high honor.  Lawton will be inducted into the One Club’s 2012 Hall of Fame January 17th, 2012 in New York City along with Paula Green, Joe Pytka, and Steve Jobs.  Yes, Steve Jobs.

Robert Lawton, together with Norm Grey and a team of circus pioneers, created the Creative Circus in 1995 to graduate the best-prepared, most avidly sought-after creatives in the industry.  Gruff with a gentle touch, Lawton knows how to spot “hammered manure” when he sees it.  His keen critiques helped prepare hundreds of students for industry life while his dedication to their education won him their love and support.

Well rounded, Lawton is a talented watercolor artist and an athlete.  In college, he was an accomplished Track and Field High-Jumper.  Throughout his career, Lawton taught the value of exploring creativity in its various forms.  Lawton adopted and made Circus-famous the phrase “Good isn’t good enough.”  Clearly good enough, Lawton is a beloved part of the advertising industry and a life-changing character in the lives of advertisers worldwide.  Congratulations, Rob!
