What does the Circus mean to you?
The circus taught me to work hard and to grow up. The work ethic I have today is 100% because of the circus.
Advice to the Incoming Class:
Meeting deadlines and being organized are more important than your talent. The people working with you have to be able to rely on you.
Describe a monumental, light bulb moment for yourself while you were at The Circus:
During my Design Concepts class with Colleen I remember thinking that I didn’t want to work in a 2D world and that my ideas were stronger than my graphic design skills. That insight led me to ditching agency life and building experiential venues instead.
Favorite project you’ve worked on:
The Madcap Motel!
“MADCAP MOTEL IS AN INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT VENUE IN DOWNTOWN LA. OUR EXPERIENCE UNFOLDS IN A ONCE ABANDONED, NOW FULLY RESTORED, 1960’S MOTEL. HOWEVER, SOMETHING STRANGE HAS BEEN HAPPENING INSIDE. GUESTS “CHECK IN” BEFORE ARRIVING IN AN ALTERNATE DIMENSION KNOWN AS: ELSEWHERE.”
What do you wish you knew in school?
That ending up at the “coolest” agency isn’t the only way to be successful in this industry
If you had a billboard to post a single message to the world, what would it say?
“It’s not that serious.”
